Saturday=Fun Day

First off, I want to thank everyone for the sweet comments. They really did help. I even went to Starbucks and got me a couple of free downloads. Thanks for the great ideas. This past Saturday was just what I needed to help get me out of my funk! Kerry meet me for a fun filled day of craft supply shopping, thrifting, and jean shopping! We got a bag of loot from Joann's, I found the most amazing set of vintage luggage, and the perfect pair of skinny jeans for $19!! (and I got a free tshirt...Thanks Old Navy). We spent so much time in the Halloween aisle at Joanns that I am suprised they didn't kick us out.
**We saw this bumper sticker on a minivan at Wal-Mart...it made us chuckle so we had to take a picture**

After our day on the town, we headed back to Poot Manor to make the most adorable Halloween aprons. I also started a leaf and acorn garland but didn't get too far on it. I will take pictures when I get a little more done.

*I ended up added an orange ball trim to the bottom and a skull button in the upper right corner*

Can you tell I am ready for fall?

Oh... My dear friend Leslie made me the most amazing apron for a wedding gift. She even made a heart box to match. The apron is simply perfect. She knows me too well! I kept meaning to take a picture in it but never did! I finally remembered!

You can check out her amazing sewing skills on her blog:

I love this girl and love the name of her company! She is making some adorable tshirts and I can't wait to order mine!

I will leave you with a picture that pretty much summed up my Monday. It was month end which means craziness at work!

Wishing everyone a magical week!

This past week...

*I became a proud wife of a grad student at KU. Scott is working toward his PhD in Theatre History and I couldn't be happier for him. Here he is on his first day of school:

*Did a little thrifting!!

*Hit the River Market where we got some yummy fresh produce, had a delicous brunch, and caught some of the airshow!!

*Went to Warrensburg to visit Scott's old students and see Little Deaths, a musical written by the very talented Jeremy Frazier!

*Celebrated my parents 36th Wedding Anniversary!! How cute are they??

*Took lots of pictures with my new polaroid app on my iPhone!! It is addicting!!

(I made that monogrammed H for my parents. I used some fabric that was my great grandmas)

It was a busy but great week! I also started a little fitness program with my friend Lisa. We are going to the gym three days a week and taking one yoga class a week. We will start our yoga class next week and I am really excited!! Tomorrow is going to be a craftastic day! I will be sure to post all about it.

Oh... one last thing. A few years ago I sold vintage clothes on Ebay. I still have several tubs full of adorable clothes that I need to sell. I was thinking about starting an Etsy shop and selling some of them. Need to make some extra money while Scott is in school. Here is an example of some of the things I sold. Let me know if you think it would be worth it!!

**I wish everyone a fun and crafty weekend!

Lack of Motivation....

Sorry I have been absent over the past week. Things have been kind of hectic around Two Poots Manor. I seem to be in a funk and don't know how to get out. I need motivation!! Lately I have been coming home from work just drained and can't seem to find any creative spark. My list of things to make just keep piling up and I just keep ignoring it! Time is the main thing I have been fighting this past week. There never seems to be enough and I know that we all fill this way at times. I am just ready to see my creative side again. Everytime I think I will sit down and finish a project something comes up! Does anyone have any suggestions? Some time saving tips? Anything would be appreciated....or maybe some things that have been inspiring you lately??? I would really love to hear from you.

My goal tonight is to go to the gym and then come home and clean up my crafting room. That should help! I will also try and post some pictures about the going ons of last week.

Here are a few things that have been getting me through this week:

*I just downloaded the most amazing app ever to my iphone! I love it!!!

*This show is back on!!

*This amazing wall in Janels house! I would love to be able to have an area like this in our home some day!

Oh and she is also doing an amazing QUILT giveaway. This girl knows how to make a quilt and I would love to be a proud owner of one. All you have to do is go check it out at www.twocrazykidsinlove.blogspot.com
These are the fabrics that will be used in the quilt:

This weekend I am doing some thrifting and craft supplies shopping for the upcoming RVA class with Kerry! Then we are coming back to my house to craft the night away! No excuses!!
Hope everyone is having a great week!!

A Kansas City Grafitti Artist & Allergies!!

A couple of days a week I work at Children's Mercy Hospital. This place is so magical and is so well staffed. I am very thankful that we have a hospital like this within our city. They think of everything here. So many of the children actually look forward to coming here! That is saying something, I think. Well...they have been doing some remodeling work on the front enterance for several weeks. So I was very suprised the other mornning when I pulled up to find that they had "covered" their work with this:

This art work was done by Donald "Scribe" Ross. He has done several paintings throughout the hospital and can be seen on several buildings downtown. Here are a couple of my favorites:

I love finding this type of grafitti around our art district. He is currently writing a childrens book that will no doubt be a hit.

Today I stayed home from work because my allergies got the best of me. It has really been affecting my eyes lately. Over the past few weeks by noon if not earlier my eyes are as red as tomatoes and just burn. I look like a druggie or maybe a vampire! I unfortantly can't see very well with my glasses even though they are a new prescription...so i went to the eye doctor today and he has ordered me new contacts. Has anyone tried the Acuvue Oasis? I really hope they work. They say they are good for people who work with computers alot...and I would say I spend roughly 90% of my day at a computer!! Since I was at home all day I finally was able to finish Eclipse and have already started Breaking Dawn. I don't want it to end!!

So which are you?

**I hate to say it put I am team Jacob...and I really wasn't very impressed with the movie. I am going to give New Moon a shot though since it is mainly about Jacob!

Oh...I also talked to my fried Lisa tonight and we have decided that starting next week, we are going to go to the gym together Mon-Wed and Thursdays take a yoga class. We are hoping that going together will make us more accountable and motivated. I am really looking forward to spending more time with Lisa while getting into shape. I have so many cute clothes that are just waiting to be pulled out of their tubs and worn again.

Well... going to work on a couple baby gifts!! Happy Wednesday!

This would look great next to my bed to hold my current crochet or knitting project!
