An afternoon of Shakespeare...

If you are in the Kansas City area this upcoming Sunday, head on over to the amazing Riverwood Winery outside of Weston, Missouri. There you will find my crazy talented fiance Scott Cox doing a one man Shakespeare show!! What a perfect way to spend your afternoon. The show starts at 2pm and tickets are only $8.00. You can find out more about the event at www.riverwoodwinery.com.

Come out and support this very talented and handsome man(I just so happen to be his biggest fan!!)

You don't want to find this guy on your doorstep do you? He he... just kidding. That's Scott trying to look tough when we toured the Gangster Musuem in Hot Springs, Arkansas last year.
Hope to see you there!

Memorial Day Weekend

I was so sad for our long weekend to end. It was so jammed pack but I had so much fun! My friend Jessica came down on Saturday to shop for bridesmaid dresses. I couldn't believe that we found the dress on our first stop!! We even found shoes! My colors are turquoise and red, and the girls will be wearing turquoise dresses and red shoes and accessories.

Sunday we headed downtown to Union Station to watch the KC Symphany and a Memorial Day Fireworks display. We packed a picnic and enjoyed a night under the stars.

Our friend Keith is in the National Guard and was there to shoot off cannons during the sypmphany concert! It was so amazing.

For dessert Kerry and I made pudding for dessert!! We went crazy for that pudding...

On our way back to the car we had to stop and take pictures at Crown Center.

Monday Scott and I headed to Kauffman Stadium to watch the Royals take on the Detriot Tigers. It wasn't much of a game but we sure did enjoy the "buck dogs".

When we got home I watched some Grey's and made these:

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend. At least it is only a 4 day work week!!

A little album of LOVE

One of my favorite projects I completed in the RVA class was the Cclor Me Happy Album. I have been scrapbooking for almost 9 years. It is one of my favorite crafts, yet I never seem to do it as much as I would like. This little book helped open me to using new mediums and materials. I love the idea of using random things you having laying around on a layout. My favorite thing right now is masking tape and of course felt! Here is a sample of the pages from that album:

I just purchased a spot in an online journal class taught by Rachel of RVA, and I am so excited! I will post some of my pages as I complete them. I am also going to try and take some pictures of my 2009 scrapbook album. I am really pleased with it and need to get it out again and start working. Who knows maybe I can get some pages done on this long weekend.

I can't believe it is already Memorial Day weekend. I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday. I plan on shopping with my girlfriends, going to see some fireworks at the Celebration at Union Station, and attending a Royals Game. I am excited to see all the renovations to the stadium! TGIF!!

When one gets bored...

1. Find a random faux mustache that is laying on your craft room floor
2. Get some scotch tape and affix it your face
3. Walk around your house feeling manly
4. Take random pictures to document for the world to see.

I am not sure really where this faux mustache came from but of course we had to have some fun with!! It gave us a lot of laughs!

Also last week I promised I would post some pictures of the projects I completed while taking my online RVA class by Elsie and Rachel. Here are a few things that I made from magical felt.

Lastly, I have been having a great time crocheting some headbands. The first one can be seen in the picture above of me in the moustache. However, this flower headband is my favorite.

Well...we are going to go grab some ice cream and come home and watch So You Think You Can Dance. Can't wait for the long weekend!

A Night Out on the Town...

Last night Scott and I had a date night! We were given two free passes to the American Heartland Theatre for a show of our choice. We saw Unnecessary Farce. It was very cute and of course funny! On our way home we drove through the Power and Light District and came across a new wine and coffee bar called Savvy. We decided to stop since we had never "hung out" downtown before. Since it was their second night being open we ended up getting the royal treatment. We each got a wine flight, had truffles, and homemade coconut macaroons. I loved spending the night out on the town with my poot! No matter where we are or what we are doing we never run out of things to talk about. Thanks baby for taking me out!! I had a great time.

I knew that today was going to be a good day because of this:

For some reason I am always drawn to fall colors. I can't wait to make a few little suprises for my bridesmaids with this bag of goodies. Oh and that yummy cup of coffee cost me .06 today!!! Best .06 I have ever spent. I found a gift card with money still on to Starbucks and it made my day! Happy Wendesday!!

Weekend with the girls...

I had been looking forward to this weekend ever since the week started. Friday started out to be such a nice day but ended with some crazy storms. It didn't stop us girls from meeting for dinner and drinks at The Drop Bar. What a great place and they make the best red wine martinis!! Heather, Amy, and I hadn't hung out since before Christmas and it was long over due!! I didn't take my camera with me, which is a first, but we all felt like a drowned rat and would't have wanted pictures anyway! I had a great time catching up, eating great food, and laughing. Thanks girls! Lets not wait so long next time to get together. Here is a picture of us girls from the last time we got together. All we were missing last night was Jessica, but she is coming to visit next weekend! YAY!

Today Amy and I went shopping! I was in need of a new outfit for Scott and I's engagement pictures tomorrow. We ended our shopping trip at Sephora where I think I could live or at least spend several hours at. Thanks Amy for spending the afternoon with me and being my stylist. I love the new outfit I got and am really looking forward to our photoshoot tomorrow around Kansas City. I will post some of the pictures as soon as I get them. Since I again didn't bring my camera (I don't know what was wrong with me this weekend!!) Here are some of my favorite pictures of me and Amy. I am so thankful that I meet her the first day of college! I love you Aims and am so glad that you and Tom are back in the states! XOXO

In between all the storms Scott and I did manage to get some yardwork done. Here is a new little flowerbed we finished:

And I finally got to play the Wii for the first time(Yay... I am a little behind the times.) and meet Mark's new little one, Andy. She is such a sweetie!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

A Recap of Last Week

I always have good intentions to post more than once a week, but these weeks seem to get more and more hectic. I spent most of my time working on my mother's day presents and a birthday gift. I ended up finishhing them all up just in time! Here are some things that I loved about last week:

*Early morning rain
*the smell of coffee
*crafting over my lunch hour

*the new Coconut Records album
*that my laundry is finally done and put away
*eating a fancy gluten free cake while wearing a new vintage dress

*PS I Love You (I never get tired of watching it)
*Fresh Strawberries
*Getting to hang with this amazing woman...My Mom!!

*Finishing my list of projects for the week on time

Overall it was a great week. Tonight we went to the movies because we got free passes to screen the movie Taking Woodstock. I was so excited to see it but they overbooked the theatre. We ended up getting a free movie pass to the movie of our choice so we ended up seeing Disney's Earth. It was breathtaking! I felt like a kid every time there was a prey/hunting scene and I would cover my eyes! I highly recommend this film though but try and see it on the big screen! Well... I am off to finish watching Idol.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta!!

Last night in celebration of Cinco de Mayo we had some friends over for tacos, margaritas, and Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Yes that is right...Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Maybe it was a full belly and margaritas but the movie was pretty good!! And we have my soon to be mother in law to thank for the amazing Margaritas. Thanks Shelley!! The weather was so beautiful, so we were able to enjoy our dinner out on the back deck.

Of course we had to take some pictures....and we never were able to get us all in one shot.

And proof that Mark was there:

Mark took this picture of him and our cat Babakeenya. I had to post it because it is just too cute.

Shelley brought the Excelsior Springs Daily Standard so that we could get caught up on town gossip. We ended up teasing her all night that she had made the headlines. The headline read "Mother of the groom creates big trouble for a small wedding"

All in all it was a great way to spend a Tuesday evening. Now I have to go get caught up on American Idol and Biggest Loser. Tomorrow I am going to post some of the projects I did while taking a Red Velvet Art Online Class. I can't wait to do another one.
