Two Poots Christmas: Part One

On Christmas Eve, Scott and I opened each others gifts! I was very spoiled this year!

*This was my favorite thing in my stocking. Scott calls it my "sexy candy"*

*Poot loved his "Man Bait" maple bacon flavored sucker that I found in the Jefferson General Store in Texas*

*Scott modeling his fancy new vest I got him...He is going to look so handsome in it*

*My favorite gift was this vintage record player!! Scott searched all day long treking through several thrift stores before coming across this one. It works too...and it goes so well in our living room!!*

*We woke up Christmas morning to find all this snow! So pretty! This is my mother in laws back porch.*

*This is the light display my mother in law has in her front yard this year! Too funny!!*

*Modeling my new hat from Poot. Doesn't it go well with my Christmas outfit?*

*This is what we found when we finally made it home this weekend. Tons of snow between our screen door and front door!!*

I will be posting more later! I have so many pictures and we were so blessed to be able to spend time with all of our families this weekend! I can't believe tomorrow is New Years Eve! So crazy! How are you spending New Years Eve?

How to entertain yourself on long road trips & Thankful Monday!!

Hello all! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Ours was magical and very very white!! I can't believe how much snow we got! I haven't uploaded pictures from the weekend yet so I will be back tonight or tomorrow with a post about Two Poots Christmas! In the mean time I thought I would show you how we entertain ourselves while on long road trips. These pictures were taken while driving to and from Texas last weekend.
*Use clear hairties to create scary looks with your face or hair!*

*Bring some felt along to make moustaches!*

*Make frequent stops especially to take pictures of pretty lights!*

Today I am thankful for:
*clear roads
*lots of pretty snow
*christmas leftovers
*movies, movies, movies (We saw Precious and Up in the Air yesterday)
*time spent with friends and family
*our new WII
*all my amazing christmas gifts!
*old family photos
*my hubby who shoveled a LOT of snow yesterday to get my car out of our driveway
*that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is over and I can now relax a little!

What are you thankful for today? I would also love to hear about some of the things you like to do on long road trips to pass the time!!

Our Favorite BBQ is in a gas station!!

If you are ever in the Kansas City area, Two Poots highly recommends that you try Oklahoma Joes BBQ. Don't let the fact that it is located in a gas station deter you! I believe they win the prize for best french fries too! Anthony Bourdain recently wrote an article listing the 13 places to eat before you die and Oklahoma Joe's made this list! We are very proud!

We made it home safely from Texas early Monday morning! It was a quick trip but it was so worth it,with lots of laughter and catching up with family! I am now frantic trying to finish up all the last minute gifts I need to make! I don't think I will be getting much sleep the next few days! I missed you guys while we were gone. I feel like I have so much catching up to do in the blog world and I don't have much time. I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I will be back tomorrow with some pictures from our trip.

I Heart it Wednesday: Homemade Style

Happy Wednesday! Since I have done nothing but focus on finishing my homemade gift, I thought searching for homemade items on weheartit.com was appropriate! I found so many beautiful and fun things. Here are a few of my favorites:

*All images from weheartit.com*

This week has not been such a good one. Scotts car is having issues again and is back in the shop and Monday evening his grandmother passed away. She was such a sweet lady and will be missed dearly!! I will probably be away from the blog for awhile, as we will be traveling to Texas this weekend for the funeral.

I am trying to pack all the gifts that I can make while in the car so my sewing machine has been very loved the last few days. I am still going to try and post my tutorial before we leave. I also want to show a few more of the gifts I have been working on. I am very proud of them!! I hope everyone is have a fabulous week. Can you believe that Christmas is next Friday??? And how is this year almost over?

Thankful Monday

The countdown has begun!! I am trying to cram as much crafting time into my day as possible! But amongst all my crafting I got to thinking about all the things I am thankful for on this fine Monday!!

Today I am thankful for:

*home cooked meals
*a dvr full of christmas movies
*cold nights snuggled in our little home
*a wonderful weekend we had
*our three adorable cats

*Boomer, Babakeenya, and Betty Jo*
*still having 11 days to finish my gifts
*and finally coming home to find this waiting for me:

Handmade ornaments from the ornament swap!! After gushing over every ornament, Poot and I put them all up on their own special tree.

Isn't the tree cute? I love it!

How is your christmas preperation going? What are you thankful for today?

Be sure to check back this week. I had a request for a tutorial on the floral shirts I made! I will post it before the end of this week.
