Pretty please...with gumdrops!!

Ever since I got my first pair of Toms for Christmas I have fallen head over heels (he he) in love with them. I was doing a little window shopping when I came across these beauties:

Wedges!! I so need this for summer!!

I am also in love with this trench coat by Jean Paul Gautier for Target!! Target is really trying to take all my money this season!

I would love to rock one of Laura's (Violet Bella) custom tshirts this summer too:

I am hoping to send her an old tshirt to transform into something beautiful! She also does amazing work with turning vintage pillowcases into tops!! You can do some shopping here.

The weather is beautiful here today and I am stuck inside with no windows!! Dreaming about owning these things is making up for the lack of sunshine I am receiving right now! What are you hoping to wear this Spring/Summer?

Tonight I will be:
*working on my new laptop (it just arrived at Poot Manor this afternoon)
*making a yummy dinner for my Poot
*putting away laundry that has been staring at me since this weekend
*working on more granny squares
*and cleaning my house for a special guest that is visiting this weekend. I can't wait...but I have a LOT of cleaning to do.

Our weekend in review...

This weekend was fun and very eventful. Friday we saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D!! So cool! Mark showed up in these fancy 3D glasses:

Saturday we moved my grandma into an amazing apartment. It is perfect for her!! I had so much fun using the mini grocery carts to move things. My mom said I looked homeless.

Her new neighbor had the creepiest statue outside her door. I almost screamed the first time I saw it because it was so lifelike!

After moving my grandma,we went and saw our friends band Hereos and Villians perform in honor of their new EP release.

Yesterday we had a lazy day and I was able to work on my granny squares. I have been receiving so many beautiful ones the last couple of days. I can't wait to post them all here. So much talent!!

Happy Monday to all. I am off to crochet and watch Grey Gardens(the new movie). We just watched the documentary and I can't wait to see Drew Barrymore. I hear she is amazing!!

Girls Night Out!

Last nights GNO was so fun and much needed. It had been way too long since I had seen these faces

These are my dear friends Heather and Amy! I met Amy on the very first day of college when we lived across the hall from each other. We were both distraught about having to leave our boyfriends in our hometown and the bond was formed. Heather and I both majored in Fashion Merchandising and she was a lifesaver our Senior year of college. We had many Elvis movie marathons in her dorm room! Good times! Girl Happy was our favorite.

We had dinner at a new place on The Plaza called Ingredient! I was excited because they had a gluten free menu. I ended up having a pizza with basil pesto, grilled chicken, portabello mushrooms, and apple smoked bacon. Yumm!!

After dinner we went to Reverse to have some mojitos. We were in a deep conversation when this guy decided to bust in and wouldn't leave! It was so annoying. We kept dropping hints that we hadn't seen each other in a long time and were trying to catch up but he just wouldn't get the hint. We gave him a hard time that he needs to brush up on his "pick up" skills considering he sat with three very happily married girls! Ha!

I made sure to have them take a picture of me in my new dress from Target

It was really simple to make it shorter...I literally just cut off the bottom ruffle and now I have some cute fabric to make a headband and maybe a necklace.

Amy just got back from visiting her inlaws in New Zealand and brought me back the cutest purse for my birthday!

(I have tried way too many times to rotate this picture and it will not change...grrr!!) It is an owl purse if you can't tell. The wings are zippered pockets. I can't wait to use it.

Tonight I finally went back to yoga and my body was thanking me big time. It had been since January and I can't wait to get back to doing it once a week. I wish that zen like feeling could last all week!

This weekend we are going to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D, moving my grandma into a new apartment, and going to some friends cd release party! Hopefully I can find some time in between to craft! What does this weekend have in store for you?

It's a Sunshine Day!!

Today was so beautiful! I made sure to get out over lunch and soak up all the rays I could get. It was really hard to come back! While out I picked up some new nail polish:

Light My Tiki... I wore this for two summers straight on my toes and then I couldn't find it anymore. I was so happy to see it waiting for me today!

Re-Fresh Mint...I am painting my nails with this as I type. I am not sold on it yet. I am so use to wearing very dark colors on my nails so it might take some getting use to...or I will just end up using it on my toes.

I was also craving this:

The Mint and Honey is out of this world! Try it!!

Tonight I am going I plan to:
*make a yummy alfredo for my Poot...it is his first day back to school after his break
*organize my granny square swap
*finish up my happy mail...must get it mailed asap...I am late! Sorry Belen!
*work on my granny squares
*cuddle with Poot and watch Idol
*alter this dress that I bought yesterday at Target

I am only 5'2" so it is a little too long for me. I am going to take the bottom ruffle off. I want to wear it tomorrow! I am having dinner with my gals from NWMSU. Go Bearcats!! Ha.... I am so excited to see them!
*fix sweater from Anthro...it is suppose to be cold again this weekend. I bought for super cheap $9!!! and the orginal price was $120! I have to fix a minor detail so I thought it was worth it.

What are you doing this Tuesday evening? Is anyone down for another swap next month? If so what type of swap would you like to do? I would love to hear some ideas.

First Day of Spring In KC...

Well...lets just say it didn't really go as I would of liked it to. We woke up to ALOT of snow and it did not stop all day. I think we ended up with around 8 inches total!! It did however give me an excuse to wear the new hat that my Aunt Paula crocheted for me! I love it!!!

Friday afternoon was so nice. Poot brought me home some flowers to brighten my day since I had been home sick!

I was able to sit outside for a little bit and enjoy the warmer weather which felt good on my achey bones! By late afternoon the temperature was dropping and by 11pm we were hit with snow! I took a picture of my phone to show that the crazy weather. I thought it was funny that it said the high was 64 degrees but there was a picture of snow too! Got to love the midwest!

Today it warmed up and the snow is already melting away! I hope our tulips survive!!! My parents just got back from their trip to Madrid, visiting my brother. They had a great time! Poot and I spent the afternoon browsing through all their photos and listening to their stories!! I really hope that Two Poots can join them next year if my brother decides to teach there again. It is such a beautiful place. Of course they brought us back some goodies that I can't wait to put up in Poot Manor!!

A Vino tile that is going to look amazing in our kitchen!!

And the most adorable owls!!

This weekend was so nice. I was able to recoup and finally feel normal again. Yay! I was able to finish my book and finally start on my granny squares!

I think I am well rested and ready to tackle a full week of work! Two Poots has also wrote up an exercise schedule for the week and I have a lot of crafting ideas floating around in this head of mine! I think it is going to be a great week!
How was your weekend? Where you able to enjoy the first day of Spring?

Things are looking brighter...

I am finally starting to feel a little better after coming down with the stomach flu. I slept so much yesterday it was crazy. At one point I had a dream that I ran into this lovely gal at a huge thrift store and we talked for hours about crafting and crocheting. Ha! The blog world even is a part of my dreams!
I woke up this morning and was finally able to eat some cinnamon toast...my favorite. I sat down to do my daily blog reading and I was so excited when I saw that these were heading my way from the very talented Janel.

They are going to look so cute displayed in our beautiful new bedroom! She is running a special this weekend only. She will do a custom drawing for only $10!!! That is a steal people!! And this includes shipping! She is wanting to buy an afghan and all she will need is 15 people to get a custom drawing and the afghan is hers!! I am sure she will have no problem because her artwork is amazing! So help her out!!

Today I think I will try to stay out of bed and finally read some of my book

and work on my granny squares for the Great Granny Square Swap. Speaking of the swap...Stephanie made the cutest little illustration for it!

I have had such a great time hosting this swap. I love meeting so many talented ladies. It still amazes me everyday all the friends I have meet from this little blog. I can't thank you enough for stopping by my little corner of the world. Your comments mean the world to me and I read each and every one of them.

My St. Patrick's Day Curse...

So last year on St. Patricks Day while it was an amazing 75 degrees out I lay in bed with the flu! Today I woke up feeling just a little "off". I thought after I ate I would feel better. I am not a morning person so it takes me awhile to actually feel alive...ha! I ended up having to leave a little early from work this afternoon because I just needed to lay down!! And lo and behold that fabulous St. Patty Flu Bug is back!!!!

I am currently laying in my adorable new bedroom trying to keep some water and gluten free crackers down. The only thing I ever crave when I am sick is saltines and being allergic to gluten makes that a little difficult! Not to say that my very very small bag of gluten free crackers for $5 is bad...they just aren't the same as the $1 saltines.

Okay..enough about feeling bad. Saturday night we had a little get together for Scott's mom Shelley and we had a blast. We found the felt moustaches we had made for our wedding reception and they made their way around the party.

It really doesn't take much to entertain us!

Here are few more favorites from the evening:

Isn't my mermom cute? She loved her new mermaid tshirt and mermaid seashell!

This weekend I also discovered Lemon Berry Slushies from Sonic and I had THREE!!! Maybe that is why I am not feeling good now? Sugar overload?

Oh and thank you so much Jari for the fingerless gloves and all my other Happy Mail goodies!

Well I hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day! I am going to go watch Idol and then hit the hay!
XOXO
