Halloween Preperations...

Last Friday a group of us got together to carve pumpkins, make caramel apples, eat yummy soup, and watch spooky movies!!!

Of course you have to have some spooky sounds...

and some yummy apples to snack on while we carved our pumpkins...

Here is Poots pumpkin...He made an owl for me:)

I made mine with a moustache...

Little Oliver was not fazed by any of this...

It was such a fun evening! Tonight we are going to Worlds of Fun. It is a big amusement park that is having it's annual Spook Fest. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little terrified. There are 9 different haunted areas and one of them includes clowns and dolls!! Ahhh....
Also they were suppose to come out to fix our internet yesterday, and they didn't show. Luckily it will be Poot that is dealing with them today, because this is how I feel about it right now

What are you plans for Halloween?

Eureka!!!

Sorry for the lack of posting recently. I have been having some computer issues. My computer is now up and running but now our internet service is out, and they can't get anyone out to look at it until Thursday. So I am stopping in to say Hi! over my lunch break today. I also thought I would share a few more pictures from our Eureka trip that I had uploaded to flickr!

Enjoy... I will hopefully be back on Thursday with a "Thankful Thursday" post! And we had our Halloween party this weekend so I can't wait to show pictures from that too!

Fall is here

Eureka Springs through my Iphone...

I took so many pictures this past weekend! We had such a great time getting away to one of our favorite little towns. Eureka Springs is full of artists and hippies...making us both feel right at home! We rented a little cabin at the edge of town and spent the weekend eating, walking, drinking wine, shopping, and relaxing!

Here is a glimpse into our weekend from my Iphone:

The adorable vintage kitchen in our cabin.

Poot can never control his excitement when he sees a bald eagle!

The Christ of The Ozarks Statue.

This town holds such a special place in our hearts and I didn't want to go home. I will be back with more photos later.

I am so happy that tomorrow is Friday! Looking forward to the weekend that is ahead! We are going to:
*carve pumpkins
*eat yummy soup
*make caramel apples and pumpkin seeds
*making crafts
*halloween party!!!

What does your weekend include??

I need your help....

One of my favorite magazines to read from cover to cover is Lucky. A few months ago I came across a little write up on a company called Warby Parker. Warby Parker is an online eyeglass company who sells amazing glasses for $95! Yep....just $95!! That is with your prescription! If you wear glasses you know that this is an amazing deal. They carry trendy and cute frames and will allow you to pick 5 frames to "try on" at home. You pick the frames, they ship them to you, you try them for 5 days, and ship back in a prepaid envelope...for FREE!!!

I have been wanting some new glasses for awhile. I wear my contacts way too much and need to give my eyes a little break. So I have been on the hunt for a "nerdy" style. Here are the 5 frames that were shipped to my house this week. All I have to do now is decide!! That is where you come in... which one should I choose?

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

I think I am leaning towards #3 or #4. Oh and say hello to my co-workers in the background of my photos! Ha! I was working really hard:) And go check out their website here. If there is a small wait for a home try-on, just leave them your email information. I did that and a week later I was contacted saying they were back in stock to try on!

So...please let me know which ones you think I should pick! And I promise I will be back later with a post of our weekend!!

A Magical Evening...

For our one year anniversary Poot bought me tickets to see Band of Horses! Last Thursday, before heading out of town for a mini vacay, we spent the evening at the Uptown Theatre. It was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time...and that is saying a lot because I LOVE going to concerts.
Here are a few pictures I snapped throughout the show:

I wore my new favorite fall pieces...my pumpkin tights and my new brown boots from Ruche!

Thanks Poot for such a fun night! I so glad you enjoyed it as much as me!!

My Mug Rocks!!

I found the coolest mug this past weekend. It starts out looking like this:

but when you pour in your coffee she turns into this:

Pretty spooky huh?? I found it at Barnes and Nobles. They also have a man that turns into a werewolf. I am thinking that Poot needs that one. We should have matching cups for all the hot apple cider we will consume this Fall!!

Also...heaven has finally arrived in the local dairy section of your grocery store:

It doesn't get much better than this.
1 Cool Mug + Pumpkin Spice Creamer= Pure Happiness!

One Proud Poot... (Thankful Tuesday)

I am gushing with pride over what we discovered in the local Pitch Newspaper last week. Every year they do their best of the year, well this year the Play of 2010 was Thom Pain: Based on Nothing. This was the one man show that Scott did over the summer!! They have an amazing write up on it that can be found here.

I have been meaning to show some of the professional shots taken from this show on my blog and now is the perfect time to do so...

Congratulations Poot! You are an amazing actor and I couldn't be more proud of you!I love you!!

I have been a little busy lately working on this online class along with Becky, and Kjirsten. These woman are so talented! I hope you will join us in celebrating Fall!! It is going to be FUN!!

crafty

It's Fall Y'all is a 6 week online class taught by Becky Farley, Amber Cox, and Kjirsten Cantrell. This is a must for those who are in need of a creative fix, wanting to decorate your home for the Fall Season, or want to get a jump start on holiday gifts.  The class will begin on October 17th and includes 30 projects for $30.00. That is only $1 a project! Yippee!!

Supplies needed are mainly craft items you already have on hand or that are easy to find in local craft stores. We also have several projects that involve things from nature. A sewing machine is used for some of the class projects, but these can be sewed by hand as well. A full supply list will be given on our private class blog.

This class is designed for you to craft at your own leisure. There are no deadlines. The last project will be posted on the week of November 28th. However, the private blog will remain up for year allowing you access the entire time. We have also created a flickr group, so that you can meet, share and encourage your classmates.

Once you are registered, you will receive an email within 36 hours with login access to the private class blog.

If you have any further questions, please email ambercox711@hotmail.com

**Stay tuned...tomorrow I will post some of the projects that we will make in the class!**

Thrifting the Day Away

Friday Poot, my mother, and I took a road trip to Springfield, MO. Scott had to spend the day in their library doing research for a paper he is writing. While he studied my mom and I hit the town for some thrifting!

Isn't my mom a doll?? We had a great time spending the entire day together!

Springfield is filled with some amazing stores. I feel in love with these two living rooms:

Some picture while we thrifted for the perfect item:

We took a little break for lunch and meet up with Chesley. What a doll! She was exactly how she is on her blog and I just loved getting to finally meet her. Chelsey was one of the first blogs I subscribed to when I started blogging. She has a great sense of humor and we have so much in common. I really hope that we are able to get together again soon! Thanks Chelsey for taking time out to hang with Two Poots for awhile!

(I was on a caffeine high at this point...ha! I had already consumed two huge coffees and two teas! Yikes!)

It was a very successful day thrifting too!! Here is all my loot:

I also picked up two new albums to add to my collection:

So stoked that Poot is taking me to see them this Thursday!! Woot Woot!!

All in all it was the perfect day!
