Our Christmas...Part Two

On Christmas Eve, we headed to our hometown to spend the night with my parents. They bought themselves a new 3D tv, so we made taco salad and watched The Fantastic Mr. Fox and Shrek in 3D. It was so fun!!

We had stockings from Santa Christmas morning. Once everyone showed up we exchanged gifts and then stuffed our faces! Here are some pictures from our day spent with my family...

We turned ourselves and my parents dog Annie into reindeer.

My dads toy truck from when he was a wee lad, all decked out for the holidays.

A delicious cheese ball shaped as an acorn! It was so pretty we didn't want to eat it, but I am glad we did! Yummy!

Scott and his mom Shelley decked out in Santa Hats!

My mom and Aunt Patti modeling their new shrugs I crocheted for them.

Modeling my new Lisa Leonard necklace from my parents. The big charm has an owl and says, "Whoo do you love?". The smaller charm has a moon and says Scott! LOVE!!

Hats were a big hit this year! They kept us entertained for hours.

Two Poots and our new monkey!

Aunt Patti, My momma, Me, and our dear friend Linda! I am so blessed to have such
amazing women in my life!
After spending the day with my family, we headed to the Mermaid Grotto (my MIL's house) for a night of fun filled games and gifts! I will be back tomorrow to post pictures of our nights festivities.

How was your Christmas? Did you have several places to go or did you stay and celebrate at home?

Our Christmas

I can't believe that Christmas has already come and gone. It always goes so fast! We had a blast hanging with our family and friends all weekend. I didn't want it to end. I took tons of pictures so I will probably break them up into a couple of posts.

On Christmas Eve, Poot and I exchanged gifts with each other, before heading up to my parents. I couldn't wait to give Poot his Sock Monkey Hat that I crocheted for him! He loved it!!

I also had a chubby sock monkey custom made for him to add to our growing collection.

Isn't he cute?

Poot had a special tshirt made for me! The last time we were in Eureka Springs, AR, I wanted to buy an Arkansas tshirt since we got engaged and married there. Unfortantly, every shirt I came across either had a kitten or looked like it had been in the shop since the early 1980's. So he had this custom made...

He also found me this really funny ash tray with the funniest ad. It has our last name on it, Cox, and I love it!

After opening our gifts,we packaged up our homemade gifts:

*I made five afghans in all, but had already given one away. We also made infused vodka, and yes that does say Bacon Infused Vodka! Oh my!*

We took one last picture in front of our dying tree, before heading to our hometown for the weekend.

It was a great way to start the Christmas celebrations!

**A visit from this cute little guy. Seriously could squeeze on him all day**

**Crocheting**

**Proof of all the laptime Babakeenya has had this week**

**Making loads of Party Mix!**

**Enjoying all the little extra Christmas touches throughout the house**

**Enjoying a BIG Chai Latte to give me some extra energy!!**

**Listening to our old childhood Christmas albums**

*My favorite Christmas Elf socks**

**Sneaking smooches in between each task**

We have done all this while enjoying some of our favorite Christmas movies:
*Prancer
*Holiday Inn
*Frosty the Snowman

We are off tomorrow to start the holiday celebration with our friends and family. I will be away from the blog for a few days. I wish each and everyone of you a safe and Merry Christmas!!

Hello...

Dear Hoot-n-Annie Reader,
I thought today would be a good day to introduce myself, since my mom has been missing in action this week around the blogsphere. Come to think of it she has been slacking in a lot of areas, mainly petting ME!

My name is Babakeenya and I pretty much rule the roost here at Poot Manor. Most days you will find me relaxing in the suns rays until they come home. I usually greet them at the door, and will continue to "talk" their ears off until they stop to pet me. I love laps and as soon as there is one available, you can pretty much guarantee that I will be on it.

However, lately these big piles of yarn have been taking my spot on my moms lap. It seems that although my mom is spending more time on the couch these last few days, there is no room for me! I try to fight way around whatever project she is working on, but I am never comfortable unless I am wrapped up in all that warm yarn. Mom will even tease me by wrapping the yarn into BALLS!! Yet I get scolded if I try and run off with one....Hello??!!!

So it seems this is where she will be for the next few days and I am determined to be in the middle of it all. I think she secretly likes it because sometimes I am a model for whatever she is making. I play along because it makes her laugh.

Well...I am off to see what trouble I can cause. There is talks of a Harry Potter Marathon which means LOTS of lap time for me.

XOXO
Babakeenya

Thankul Tuesday

Today's list is from one of my best friends...Kerry! I feel so blessed to have her in my life. She is my go to girl for concerts, cooking, crafting, and Six Feet Under. I hope you enjoy her list as much as I did...

I totally dug Scott's idea, so I borrowed it & did the ABC's of things I'M thankful for. Whee! Thanks Amber for letting me post my silly list!
A- Adventures, big & small. NOTHING better than a roadtrip!!!

B- Bare feet. I'd never wear a shoe again... if they weren't so darn cute sometimes! ;)

C- Creativity. Where would I be without it? In the nuthouse, that's where.

D- Daniel Day Lewis. I am enamored with the talents of this man... his dedication to the characters he plays always blows me away!

E- ETSY! That's right, stealing that one from you, Amber!

F- Friends and Family... they're one in the same to me & I'm blessed to have each & every one. They're as diverse as they come & crazy too boot- I wouldn't have it any other way!

G- Great Outdoors! Camping, music festivals, BBQ-ing on the deck, gardening, picnics, unwinding around the fire barrel at Poot Manor, I love love love all of it! I'm an outdoor girl at heart! I'd be out there 24 hours a day sometimes if I could.

H- Horses. Yep. I dreamt constantly of them as a little girl & longed to have one of my own... I may not have so much free time to daydream now, but I WILL get my own horsey some day!

I- Ink. As in tattoos. I think they can be tasteful & beautiful whether you have 1 or 100! I'm always thinking of new ideas... & I admit I'm way behind on what I want done.

J- Taper JEAN Girl. Ok, ok, I'm cheating a little- but it's my favorite Kings of Leon song and I had to squeeze it in somewhere! I love to listen to it& dance around while I clean house.

K- Keith. Love of my life. My best friend and hands down funniest person I know. He gets me. Not a clue what I did before he came along!

L- Lake Pomme de Terre. We LOVE to visit Grandpa &Grandma there! We took Oliver for his first visit before he was even a month old- can't wait till he's big enough for a boat ride!

M- Meow meows. As in, our kitties, Ozzy& Hotsauce. Their antics endlessly amuse us!

O- Oliver. My precious precious baby boy... I never knew it was possible to love someone so much. Doesn't hurt that he's freakin' adorable! <3

P- Parchment Paper. What? I love to bake.

Q- Quirkiness. It's what makes people interesting, ya know? Ooh Ooh, and Queen- oh how they make me want to shake my booty!

R- Robots. Now that I have a son, I have an excuse to decorate a whole room with them. And I will!!!

S- Snickerdoodles. My favorite cookie! I have been making& eating WAY too many of these! Right out of the over... oooh I am drroling!!!

T- Texas. Sooo near & dear to my heart. My faovrite roadtrip destination... where oodles of family live, every Summer's McLendon Family Reunion is the highlight of my year!

U- Ukulele. They're little& adorable, they sound pretty, & anyone playing them always looks hilarious, no matter what!

V- VW Buses! Love love love! Oh yes, it will be mine!

W- Wayne Coyne. Without him there would be no Flaming Lips, & my heart would break.

X- eXperimenting in the kitchen. One of my favorite places to do this is Poot Manor... we always have a great time where food and silliness are envolved!

Y- Yoshimi. "Her name is Yoshimi, she's a blackbelt in karate..." Ok ok, more Flaming Lips. I can't help myself! But they make me sooo happy, & that IS something to be thankful for!

Z- Zeke and Stella- my pooches who I adore!!!

**All images are either Kerry's or found on www.weheartit.com**

I LOVE this ABC thankful list idea (Thanks Poot)...so if you would like to jump on board and do one here, just leave me a comment and I will schedule a Thankful Tuesday post for you! I think it would be fun to have this become a regular thing here on ye ole' blog.

So, what are you thankful for today?

Let the Crocheting begin...

This weekend was great practice for what the new few weeks evenings will entail....crocheting! I spent all day Saturday with my friend Kjirsten watching chick flicks and crocheting.

I was able to finish another giant granny square afghan and start on some of my smaller Christmas gifts. I am not going to lie, but it is getting down to the wire and I still have a lot more to make!

How is your christmas shopping or making going??
Well....I am going to watch It's a Wonderful Life (favorite Christmas movie) and you guessed it....crochet!

Who is your celebrity crush??

I saw a post the other day on Elsie's Blog about celebrity crushes. I thought it would be fun to participate.

Here are "some" of my celebrity crushes...

My numero uno is Ben Affleck!! Not gonna lie...I will go see a movie just because he is in it. And yes I did watch Gigli. Ha!

Joshua Radin...I love his music and he isn't bad on the eyes either. He is my go to music when my day is turning to crap!

Paul Rudd...The crush started in Clueless and Overnight Delivery!

Javier Bardem...he creeped me out in No Country for Old Men, but won crush status in Eat, Love, Pray and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

All these crushes all kind of resemble each other a little don't they? Ha!

When I was younger I had some pretty embarrassing crushes...

Corey Haim! Oh my gosh, I think I even had this picture in a huge poster on my wall.

Joey McIntyre...To say I was obsessed was an understatement. My walls were completely covered in pictures of him. Oh yes and you better bet that I had the Joey Mac doll and big buttons. Okay...and yes I did see him perform live a few years back and had to drag my friends along with me.

Luke Perry...I was Team Dylan!!!

Who could resist that head of hair?? I loved watching them on Mtv...do you remember when they actually played music videos?

**All images found via google image search**
So now it is your turn...Who is your celebrity crush? Do you have any from your younger years? I would love to hear them, so leave your answers here in the comments section, or if you blog about it post your link here so we can read them!

XOXO
Amber McIntyre... I mean Cox (Just kidding Poot)
