It was a bright night

Craft night finally started back up again last night! We hadn't been able to get together since before Christmas, and it was a much needed evening! The theme for last night seemed to be bright colors. Here are a few pictures of some of the projects we are working on.

My Aunt Paula is currently working on this amazing granny square afghan:

My mom was working with some pretty blue yarn...

I made some great progress on my "double rainbow all the way" afghan...

I am so thankful for our little get togethers, sipping hot cocoa, chatting, and learning new crocheting tips!

Poot came today with a little suprise for me:

I can't wait!!

I decided to brighten up my day by wearing my new floral tights from Target, the best part is that they were only $5!

And isn't Boomer so handsome?

I sure think so!

**I also wanted to say hello to all my recent new follwers! Thanks for stoppping in to see what is going on around Poot Manor!

Tomorrow is Friday!! Hallalujah!

Tuesday's Tunes

I am sure like many of you I LOVE LOVE music. I can't imagine going a day without something playing in the background. Pandora is what gets me through the work day. So I thought I would periodically pop in and spotlight a musican or band I am currently listening to.

Band of Horses has been on heavy rotation on the record player here at Poot Manor. They are one band that Poot and I both enjoy! They are amazing live, so if they are ever playing in your area we highly recomment it!

I love the look of this video and makes me laugh every time I watch it...

Here are a couple more to enjoy...

Who have you been listening to recently??

Birthday Wishes...

Poot has been asking me what I would like for my birthday so I thought I would make a little "etsy wish list". It is my favorite place to shop!

This adorable MO print!

I am loving succulents and would love a few more to place around Poot Manor. These are my favorite!

Would love to have these pretty tapes to use in my journal.

Oh my!! I seriously LOVE this mustard crochet scarf!

This beautiful necklace or this one...

This cute print. I have had this one on my etsy list for awhile. It just makes me smile!

I would also love a gift card to Anthropologie. I always get a coupon from them to spend in my birthday month and it is the one time of the year that I splurge and buy myself something...of course it is usually still something on clearance.Ha!

I still can't believe January is almost over and that I will be 34! Ahhhh!! I am still coming to terms with being 33.

Lazy Weekend

I spent my entire weekend in Poot Manor pretty much crafting and watching movies. It has been so cold and snowy here so I have become a little bit of a homebody. Poot is finally home!!I was so excited to see him and smother him in kisses! He took home the Best Classical Actor award and I couldn't be more proud of him! Yay Poot!

This weekend I:
*cleaned the house while listening to some vinyl

*made yummy breakfasts

*Started a new afghan. I have named it the Woodstock Granny. It is for Kerry and she has patiently been waiting for it for almost two years.

*Did some more journaling for Janel's New Year New You Journal. I am LOVING this class!

*Made myself a new cowl. I love it!

*We have been having these for dessert everynight...Florida Honeywell Tangerines. So sweet and juicy!

I also got caught up on our tivo! I am loving the new American Idol? Are you watching it? If so what do you think? I also watched the movie Brothers, which was very good and not what I expected.

Well, I am off to eat some dinner and watch Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. Poot has been begging me to watch it for a few weeks. I honestly don't remember much about it!

I hope you had a fabulous lazy weekend too!

A Little Off...

I can't believe I haven't posted since this past Sunday. I have been a little "off" this week because my Poot has been in Iowa. He is in an acting competition and doing very, very well. I am so proud of him.

To try and brighten up my days I have been wearing my Chucks...alot!!

Of course I have been crocheting...

Yesterday afternoon Kansas City was hit with a crazy snow storm. My normal drive home from work takes me 15 minutes, however last night it took me two hours!! I made it all the way to my street and couldn't make it up the hill. I walked the rest of the way and ended up having to have my car towed. I can not believe how much snow we have and there is talks that there will be another 4-7 inches on Sunday!

I was covered in snow after uncovering my car after work! Ha!

My sweet friend Jeremy helped me shovel out a spot for my car and our sidewalk.

We had watched Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World right before we went out to shovel, so we were acting like we had some "super powers". Lol! By the way that movie ROCKED!!! I can't wait to watch it again!

So happy that tomorrow is Friday!! Woo hoo!

Weekend Whereabouts...

Friday night we went to our friend Larry's art exhibit at a local art gallery...

and ate some amazing local hamburgers at Blanc Burger and Bottles...

They serve their fries in mini shopping carts...so cute!!

Saturday Poot and I had lunch at Chez Elle Creperie...

You can get any crepe gluten free!!! Woo hoo!!

After lunch we headed to The Plaza to see the Christmas lights one more time and to see

It was one of the best movies I have seen in awhile! Colin Firth deserves an Oscar.
Of course we couldn't pass up a funny photo op...

I wrapped up the weekend by watching The Golden Globes and journaling. Perfect!
How was your weekend?
