Sprucing up the Manor

While Poot was busy cultivating our garden, I brought out some paint and decided to spruce things up a bit. Yard work can get expensive, so I wanted to use what we already had on add, but add some special touches to them. First up was our rusty flower pot stand!


I decided my bathroom trash can needed a makeover too. It is amazing what a little spray paint can do:


I love the green color of the stand with my pink flowers!


Next I thought it would be fun to paint some simple designs on old terra cotta pots we had laying around. Now I do not have the painting talent of my mom, AT ALL...but they didn't turn out too bad.



The garden is coming along and we have added some blueberry bushes. I love the idea of going out in my yard to grab fresh blueberries!!

Poot has been working so hard on the flower beds and adding rock pathways!

We just can't seem to get grass to grow in our small front yard, so Poot drew up a design to turn our yard into a cottage garden! I am thrilled!

I will make sure to keep updating our progress as we make headway!

Craft Room Makeover and other Improvements...

I took a "staycation" last week and Two Poots worked like crazy around the Manor. We had originally planned on going to visit my Aunt in Colorado on this vacation, but having to pay to have a huge old tree that fell on my Jetta removed, that set us back some on our vacation fund. Although we would of rather have been in Colorado, we did have a great week and got so much accomplished! Poot spent almost the entire week cleaning out our basement. The scary thing is that we have done this several times and it baffles me that we can collect SO MUCH STUFF!!!! I really think that this will be the last major cleanout. We now have a nice little game room and we are stoked!!!

While Poot was busy in the basement I decided to tackle this mess....

My craft room!!! I don't even know the last time I actually crafted in this room. It began to be just a catch all for everything! It took me two full days (we are talking working from morning until the wee hours of the next morning)but I went through every single thing and downsized and organized!!! Look at it now...

Now I just walk in to look at how pretty it is! Ha!!! I love it and can't wait to get back in there over the summer and create!!!
I had a really hard time parting with things, but things to my friend Kjirsten via text, I was able to donate a lot of things I don't use anymore. It was very rewarding in the end!

My mom also came over one afternoon and we made pretty curtains out of vintage sheets.

I took the door off the closet in my craft room to give me more space! I love it now with the new curtain...

This curtain was made to hide the shelves Poot made in between our bookshelf in the bedroom to store clothes.

Our last major project was giving our tiny bathroom a little facelift! We got a wild hair and decided to take our shower doors down. Doing so made us have to do a little tile work but we loved the end result. It is crazy how a pretty shower curtain can make all the difference!

Poor Manor feels more organized and lighter and we love it!! Now we can sit back and enjoy!!
