Backyard Gardening At Poot Manor

This summer we were determined to really be dedicated to our gardening. We spent months drawing up our garden plans and researching the best ways to do it organically. Every night we come home from work and are outside until the sun goes down. Here is a glimpse of some of our progress around Poot Manor...

We have had soooo many sweet strawberries...

Lots of wine is consumed around here, so we recycle the bottles by lining our flower beds with them!

My mother-in-law bought Poot four fruit trees for his birthday. We got two cherry trees, a peach tree, and an apricot tree!

We started a new garden bed where we planted corn, watermelon, summer squash, and zucchini! The great thing is that we actually had all the fencing that was left here from the previous home owners! Yes!!

And of course I have planted a few more succulents! I just can't get enough!!

Our front yard flower beds are filling in nicely too! I love walking around seeing how much every thing has grown.

I think we are finally able to sit back and look at the fruits of our labors!!!
Are you gardening this year? What are you looking forward to eating the most?? I think mine will be our watermelon!!!
XOXO

last summer, i would go to the grocery store and buy like a pound fresh cut watermelon every night and eat it for dinner. i loves me some watermelon.

i think it's great you guys are growing your own food--especially the fruit trees. that. is. the. coolest.

big poot needs a straw hat to complete his look. would that cause a future fashion blogging sensation? i think so.

:) You two are awesome!! I'm most excited about your watermelon too lol seriously!
I LOVE your garden! and the bottles!! :)
I second Chelsey's suggestion of Poot wearing a straw hat - I'm sure they have one at school for a costume he can borrow!
Love that yellow pot you found! So pretty!
