Lacy Crocheted Shawl

For my mother's birthday I decided to make her a lacy shawl. I have set some goals for myself this year with my crocheting, wanting to branch out from scarves and afghans. This was my first attempt at crocheting something lacy and I loved making it. I was a little worried when I first started because I started over probably ten different times. It finally took me turning off the tv, cranking up some Washed Out, and really concentrated on the pattern for me to get it...but I got it!

I found the pattern on Ravelry for free!

I am happy to say that my mom loved it!

Birthday Celebrations: Part 2

Poot organized a little get together at Poot Manor this past weekend. He made us three different soups to enjoy before we headed out to a roasting of the movie The Room. If you have not heard of this movie I highly suggest you look up some clips on youtube! It is so ridiculously bad it is funny!

**My friends Dawn and Patrick made me the most awesome gluten free Tommy Weiseau cake (He is the actor,director,writer, and producer of The Room .) We are serious about this! Lol!**

On my actual birthday, my poor Poot had to have a wisdom tooth removed so we had a dinner out at The Outback and browsed Barnes and Nobles before heading home to cuddle and catch up our dvr!

Birthday Celebrations Part 1:( I felt so LOVED...)

Thank you so much for all your birthday wishes!!! That Becky is so sweet and sneaky!! I had a great birthday and honestly don't feel that I deserved all that I got!(LOL)Really.... I got so much!
The celebrations started with a stop at the Apple Store and dinner with our friends Audra and Trevor. I got to pick where we ate, so I decided to try out a new place called Beer Kitchen. I am so glad I did because I was able to have make your own Mac-N-Cheese with gluten free pasta!!




Poot got me the classic Ipod! I am having a blast loading all my music on it! I think it will take me a few years to fill it up though!

We headed to my parents for a birthday lunch...

My family got me Amazon giftcards so that I can put it towards a new camera. I finally going to get a digital SLR soon!

Today is Amber's birthday!! Help me wish her the best year ever!

Amber is one of my BEST friends and I am so so lucky to have her in my life! Wish I could make you a gluten free cake! Maybe in March - I make no promise it will taste good ;)

Happy Birthday Becky!!!

Today is my blogging buddy Becky's birthday!!! (Say that 5 times fast!!LOL)She is one of the sweetest gals I know! I get to go spend some time in Florida with her in March and I can not wait!!! We are going to crochet until are fingers cramp, visit Harry Potter World, and eat lots of yummy food!!! I am sure we will manage a little shopping too!
